Meet The Team
Sian trained at Winchester University on a four year BA (Hons) Primary Education with an Early Years Specialism QTS course.
During her time there she did many teaching placements. She got the opportunity to experience teaching in The Gambia and participate in the communities amazing Scout group, which came together to sing and dance with the local children.
She also spent a placement in a Forest School nursery in the New Forest and has since been inspired by the Forest School approach.
After University Sian taught in reception in an three form entry East London Primary School, first as a class teacher and then progressed to an Early Learning Leader. She gained experience working with children with English as an additional language and with varying additional needs. During her time there she attended many CPD courses including; working with children with Autism, Forest School, Positive Handling, Pediatric First Aid, Maths in the Early Years...
Forest School Training
During her time in East London she completed a Level 3 Forest School Leader course with Forest School Learning Initiative. She is also a qualified Pediatric First Aider.
Sian has continued to develop her Forest School Practice by visiting other settings and attending various CPD courses such as Bushcraft, Fire Building, Wild Pottery, Foraging, Storytelling in the Woods and more.
Family and Children's Yoga Training
Sian enjoys Yoga and saw the benefits of doing simple meditation and yoga exercises with children in her class. In 2017, she completed a 'Kids Yoga' course with Rainbow Yoga and is certified to teach children up to the age of 18 years old. She enjoys adding yoga games and activities into the forest school day camps.
Adam is from New Zealand and works primarily in horticulture. He trained in Zoology and is interested in educating children about living things, the environment and the way everything is connected.
Adam began volunteering at the Little Forest Feet sessions summer 2019. His caring nature paired with his creativity, adventurous spirit and joyousness made him an invaluable part of the team. He built fantastic relationships with the children and many of them asked after him on days he wasn't there.
He enjoyed making cricket bats among other things with the children last year but was a particular fan of the clay station!
Martine is a mother of four grown up children. She worked as a childminder while her children were young and then had various part time jobs that she could do as well as being a full time mum.
Martine is passionate about creating a warm, nurturing environment for children to develop into happy, well rounded individuals.
She has exceptional people skills and builds positive supportive relationships with parents/carers.
Andy trained at Winchester University to become a Qualified Primary School Teacher.
He has worked with children aged 3 to 11 years old and having taught in a London Primary School for 8 years, has gained a wealth of experience working with children with varying additional needs.
Andy is passionate about getting children outdoors and having opportunities for a 'wild and free' childhood.
As outdoor lead and PE Coordinator in his school, he has a particular interest in keeping kids active and regularly takes groups of children into Epping Forest and on residential camps.
Alison is a qualified Forest School Teacher and also spent many years working as a P.E teacher in secondary and primary schools.
Alison runs Join the Dots Forest School but also enjoys working with us at Little Forest Feet.
She has a great wealth of knowledge of flora and fauna and is passionate about making a positive impact in our environment.
Hannah has a keen interest in Forest School and a strong belief of the importance of children growing up with rich opportunities to explore and connect with their natural world. She values play, creativity and a child led approach and supporting children's holistic development. She has two children and is always taking them on beach and woodland adventures!
